The Observatory issued a Black rainstorm warning signal at 8:20 a.m. on Monday morning, leading to the suspension of inoculation appointments at Covid-19 vaccination centres and a postponement of court and tribunal proceedings.
A statement on the government website said the community vaccination centres will remain open but inoculations will be suspended.
The Hong Kong Judiciary said that if the Black rainstorm warning is still in force after 11 a.m., hearings for this afternoon will remain adjourned.
Court and tribunal registries and officers will also be closed and will be re-opened within two hours if the
Black rainstorm warning is cancelled. Rainfall is expected to exceed 70 millimetres in an hour, the Observatory said. It advised against travel until the warning signal is lifted and traffic conditions have been improved, as the heavy rain is seen to bring flash floods.
