Two quarantine hotels for foreign domestic helpers – Regala Skycity Hotel (Regala) and iclub Ma Tau Wai Hotel – will be converted into community isolation facilities starting from March 1.
In addition, the government announced all helpers coming to Hong Kong from March 1 can choose to quarantine at any designated quarantine hotel – the same as other inbound travelers arriving from overseas.
Helpers checking into Regala before March 1 will be transferred to Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin to continue with the quarantine without separate reservation. The government will bear any difference in room rates.
Helpers whose quarantine completion date falls before February 24 will continue to complete the quarantine at Regala.
For those originally meant to check into Regala or iclub Ma Tau Wai Hotel on or after March 1, the hotels will refund the paid room fees in full. Employers or agencies may make another reservation at other designated quarantine facilities.
All inbound travelers from overseas destinations are subject to the same quarantine arrangements, including undertaking compulsory quarantine for 14 days, a government spokesperson said.
